About This Server
Osthaven is a fantasy medieval MMO built inside Minecraft for players who want long-term progression, class identity, profession grinding, faction politics, custom gear, and an expanding world.
Choose from 10 fantasy races, each with real strengths, weaknesses, and playstyle identity. Become a forge-hardened Dwarf, arcane Blood Elf, frost-wielding Lich, predatory Vampire, or more. Race is not cosmetic: it shapes your build. A Deep Dwarf thrives through mining, smithing, and industry; an Elf favors speed, archery, enchanting, and finesse; a Vampire becomes a fast night fighter with lifesteal; and a Lich leans into magic, frost, and defensive spacing. Pair your race with a combat, crafting, or gathering class to create a build that feels yours.
Progression is earned through ValhallaMMO skills. Mining, smithing, enchanting, farming, fishing, combat, gathering, and crafting all matter. Smithing is especially important: your skill affects the quality of the tools and weapons you craft, so rushing to iron or diamond is not always enough. Like Skyrim, you must master the craft before your best gear reaches its full potential. The grind is the point.
Villager trading is disabled, making emeralds the server’s endgame currency instead of something farmed through trading halls. You earn cash by selling custom mob drops, rare fish, gems, digging byproducts, crops, logs, and other profession goods. You can also earn money by killing mobs, fighting higher-level enemies for better rewards, or trading with other players.
Cash can be exchanged for emeralds, which buy endgame PvP weapons, armor, grappling hooks, themed gear, and powerful equipment from specialized NPC vendors. The economy rewards patience, specialization, and long-term investment.
Osthaven also has a world that reacts to you. A real calendar, changing seasons, shifting day-night cycles, outdoor temperature, and environmental danger all affect survival. January nights are long. June nights are short. Temperature changes by season, biome, time of day, and location. Cold can drain hunger, slow you, or freeze you. Extreme heat can stop healing, slow you, or set you on fire. Leather armor helps against freezing, while water, bottled water, and removing armor help manage heat.
There is no world border. Custom MythicMobs replace vanilla spawns, creating a more RPG-like combat loop. Enemies scale the farther you travel from spawn, gaining compounded health and damage every 1,400 blocks. The farther you explore, the more dangerous—and rewarding—the world becomes.
Rotating bosses with unique drops are coming soon, to accompany current custom mobs, rare materials, dungeons, and living lore written in real time. KeepInventory is enabled in the overworld to keep early and mid-game approachable, but it is off in the Nether and End. Go in unprepared and the world will punish you.
Because passive vanilla spawns are replaced, animals come from NPC vendors. Farm animals, horses, wolves, and other tameable creatures are part of the server economy. Horses use BetterHorses genetics, so breeding matters. Stronger bloodlines, better stats, and better mounts require time and effort. Players can also buy MCPets mounts and pets, raise bees, collect themed tools, use custom enchantments, and discover trinkets, weapons, armor sets, and build-defining gear.
Osthaven is small, friendly, and growing, usually reaching around 6–7 players online during peak hours. Land is still open, factions are still forming, and major wars have not taken over yet. That makes now the best time to join.
Claim land early. Build your economy. Grind your skills. Prepare your gear. Form alliances. Establish your faction before the world becomes more competitive, because PvP and faction conflict are intended to become major parts of the server as the playerbase grows.
Choose your race. Grind your skills. Forge your legend.
