Votifier Tutorial
Configuring Votifier on a Minecraft server can encourage players to vote for your server on our Minecraft server list, improving your server's ranking and attracting more players. The steps below outline how to install and configure the Votifier plugin:
1. Prerequisites
- Make sure you have a running Minecraft server.
- Register your server on our Minecraft server list: Register your server.
- Ensure you have administrative access to the server files and directories.
- Your server should have a plugin manager like Spigot or Bukkit installed.
2. Download Votifier
- Go to the SpigotMC Votifier page or a similar reputable source.
- Download the latest version of Votifier.
3. Install Votifier
- Move the downloaded Votifier.jar file into your server's plugins directory.
- Restart your Minecraft server either by using the restart command in the console or by stopping and starting the server again.
4. Configure Votifier
- After restarting, a new folder named Votifier will appear in the plugins directory.
- Navigate to the Votifier folder and open the config.yml file with a text editor.
- In config.yml, set the host and port to match your server's IP and a free port (default is 8192).
- To ensure the functionality of Votifier, it's crucial that the designated port for Votifier is configured to accept TCP connections.
- Save the config.yml file.
5. Generate a Votifier Key Pair
- If Votifier didn't generate a key pair automatically, follow the instructions on the Votifier page to generate one.
6. Configure Voting on Our Server List
- Use the edit option to update your server information on our website.
- In the Votifier section, select the option to enable Votifier options.
- In the Votifier port, provide the port number configured in the previous step.
- In the Votifier public key, provide the public key generated in the previous step.
7. Install a Vote Listener Plugin
- Install a vote listener plugin like NuVotifier or GAListener, which will handle the votes and give rewards to the players.
- Configure the vote listener plugin as per your preference to specify the rewards for voting.
8. Test Votifier
- Use our "Test Vote" tool to ensure that Votifier and the vote listener plugin are working correctly.
- If everything is set up correctly, players should now receive rewards when they vote for your server.
